NVidia Afraid Of The Nintendo NX?!

NVidia Shield 2? It seems like we will never see it in stores because of the upcoming Nintendo console!

According to Digital Trends, NVidia decided to cancel the Shield 2 project because the big N’s new console is rumored to use the NVidia Tegra chip, and the NVidia Shield 2 would have been overshadowed by the NX, which is considered as a rival. This is a possible reason behind the „cancellation due to business reasons”…

While it may seem like a harsh move by NVidia, if you consider the situation, it might end up as a logical step to can the Shield 2. The Shield doesn’t have a lot of exclusive games, and in 2014, the original Shield Tablet was recalled because of safety reasons, tarnishing the brand’s reputation.

Only one thing is left for us: we just have to wait for Nintendo to reveal the NX (possibly at the Tokyo Game Show). If it does end up as a portable console with the NVidia Tegra chip, NVidia will be proven right.
