The New Assassin’s Creed Game May Not Be Out In 2017

Despite taking a break in 2016, we may not see the new Assassin’s Creed title next year either.

Ubisoft‘s CEO, Yves Guillemot, talked with GameSpot, and he talked about how they have an opportunity to lift the franchise to a new level. The company’s portfolio with multiple IPs allows them to take their time to work a bit more on the new Assassin’s Creed game.

„There’s a huge potential in this game to revolutionize the IP, so we said, ‘Let’s make sure we change our model so we have more time and that we can bring back a greater experience.’” – says Guillemot, who also changed the 2017 launch window to a „When it’s done” one: „It will be back when it’s ready.”

The small break will help the franchise, but the same can’t be said about Ubisoft. How will they fill the 2017 gap? They have the Ezio Collection and Watch Dogs 2 for late 2016, but they can’t do the same thing for next year…
