Two Kingdom Hearts Collections In Three Months! Overload? [VIDEO]

So far it seemed that only HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue would be the only package before the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 arrives. Square Enix proved us wrong.

We might get a bit of overload, because 2.8, which got delayed to January 24 in the West (you can have a look of its full opening movie under the article in the first video), will be joined by something else as well. If you don’t have a complete collection for say, not owning a PlayStation 3 before, you can now do some catching up.

Square Enix announced that PS3’s HD 1.5 and HD 2.5 Remix collections will be put together into a single entity on PlayStation 4, which means you’ll get SIX games on one disc. They are the following:

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix

  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD remastered cinematics)

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX

  • Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded

Add 2.8’s Dream Drop Distance (a full HD remaster from the 3DS), a movie that covers major backstory events and Kingdom Hearts 0.2, and a short playable side-story leading up to Kingdom Hearts 3, and you might think it IS overload.

HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix will launch in North America on March 28, followed by a European release on March 31 – the trailer is the second video below.
