Rumor: Is Crytek In Trouble Again?

The sword of Damocles is above Crytek… again.

On the NeoGAF forums, a topic surfaced, which mentions how the Frankfurt-based headquarters have not paid its 300+ employees for FOUR MONTHS in a row! It’s a serious issue, if true: the last time Crytek ran into financial trouble, the partnership with Amazon has helped them out.

Their situation isn’t rosy again, and it’s not even because the Frankfurt studio is working on nothing – to name two projects, Robinson: The Journey is coming shortly for the PlayStation VR, plus Hunt: Horrors of the Glided Age is being developed for the PlayStation 4/Xbox One/PC platforms.

Will there be someone who pulls Crytek out of their slump? They previously worked on games like the Crysis franchise or the first Far Cry.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
