Dynasty Warriors 9 Is In Development, And It Will Be Open-World [VIDEO]

The Dynasty Warriors‘ new installment is „opening up.”

Gematsu got together all the currently known details about Omega Force‘s game, which is known in Japan as Shin Sangokumusou 8 (yeah, we jump a number during localization…), which got revealed during a PlayStation stream, effectively confirming it for PlayStation 4.

All of China is reproduced in Dynasty Warriors 9. The Chinese land is a vast one with a lot of mountains – places where battles can take place are limited. This is the reason why a few locations, such as Zhongyuan, will be in detail. Toukiden 2, which is also heading to the West and also be an open-world title, uses a different technology, but that which can be appropriated will be utilized.

Up to Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires, a total of 83 (!) playable characters were in the series, and they will all make a return. There will also be Zhou Cang, a character from Luo Guanzhong’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms, as a playable, comedic character – however, he will first be playable in a PS4/PS Vita spinoff called Musou Stars.

The release date and the target platforms are currently unknown for this hack and slash.
