You can try the game before it launches (in the West).

First off, we need to point out that Square Enix will rotate the playable character roster around to keep you interested in the open beta, which will have the following three time windows:

From Friday, January 12 at 6:00 a.m. PT to Monday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m. PT
From Monday, January 15 at 2:00 p.m. PT to Thursday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m. PT
From Thursday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. PT to Sunday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. PT

You can already find the open beta client on the PlayStation Store. It offers both online and offline battles, mainline Final Fantasy locations, as well as character customization, and summons. Attention, having a PlayStation Plus subscription is NOT necessary!

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is already available in Japan in both arcades and on the PlayStation 4 (the latter having launched on January 11) – the West will get the PS4 release on January 30.
