The Council, the Bilderberg Club of the 18th Century, is Committed to Replayability

Developed by Cyanide, it will be sold by chapters on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.

Cyanide is one of the most prolific French studios in the industry, no doubt about it. The firm, also, is multifaceted as few, daring with genres as different from each other as infiltration, strategy, board games or cycling. The present is one more case of its versatility: it is called The Council and takes the player at the beginning of the 19th century to a mysterious island in which, historical characters of the category of George Washington or Napoleon, will meet in the mansion of Lord Mortimer for one of his famous parties.

He puts us in the shoes of Louis de Morat, a mysterious character who suffers from premonitory visions, with one objective: to know the whereabouts of his mother, Sarah de Morat, who disappeared on the island of Lord Mortimer without a trace. The main inspiration of Cyanide is clear, and does not hide its gameplay and narration similar to that of productions such as Telltale or Life is Strange by Dontnod, which was also in Focus Interactive’s What’s Next with its highly anticipated and promising Vampyr.

The player must take advantage of his visit to the mansion to take advantage of his abilities as a diplomat, detective or obscurantist, which will allow him to get to know the rest of the guests and investigate the history and the reasons that have led them to the mansion. Although the game will be sold by chapters, the production allows the user to enjoy three different storage spaces to play a game with each of Louis’ specialties, so the replayability is obvious and allows to enjoy three different points of view to face the narration.

Beyond the game of influences and the visions of the protagonist’s future, something dark and demonic is found in the mansion, which seems ruled by satanic rituals that could endanger our adventure. The first chapter will be released on a date to be determined in the month of February; Cyanide is expected to finalize the date in the next few days.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
