With a Twitter reply, Sony effectively confirmed the situation which has been happening for the past few years.
It’s been a few years since Sony was focusing on the domestic market, Japan, with the PlayStation Vita. We can now ring the death bells, too: a Spanish Twitter user asked Sony why there is a lack of PS Vitas in the stores. The answer follows: „Hello! It is effectively discontinued, yes.”
It’s not a fake account – the reply was written by the official Spanish PlayStation account. It means that they will sell the rest of the PS Vitas they have in stock, then it’s goodbye to the handheld which celebrated its sixth birthday in Japan in December. The Spanish situation can be expanded to Europe, too…
Although Sony didn’t officially bid adieu to the PlayStation Vita in the West yet, we can’t expect anything good anymore…
Hola! Efectivamente está descatalogada, sí.
