Is Blizzard’s Unannounced Shooter Focusing On PVP?

Blizzard doesn’t want to get rich by doing Overwatch and nothing else – they have other ideas, too.

The dev team has been looking for employees at least since late 2016, and in 2017, they already started looking for a vehicle gameplay designer, as well as lead software engineers (we may have written about this subject back in the day). Blizzard is now a step ahead, though, because of this time around, they have a job listing for a senior/principal gameplay designer.

This listing mentions the term PVP several times, and the chosen one should have some knowledge about competitive first-person shooters (Call of Duty, Battlefield, Overwatch, Counter-Strike, to name a few examples), and Blizzard expects the person to have „experience in developing weapons, abilities, and gameplay systems in action or first-person shooter games.”

So, Blizzard is doing something, but knowing them, it will take at least a year or two until they finally announce what they have been developing…
