God Of War Is Getting A New Novel!

The PlayStation 4-exclusive, which launched in April, is going to get a book shortly.

Indeed, Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica’s game is going to get a book adaptation. It’s written by J. M. Barlog, who is none other than the father of Cory Barlog, the director of the God of War game. He should be able to get the father-son relationship, a key element in the PlayStation 4 game, as exciting in a novel format as possible.

„His vengeance against the gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive … and teach his son to do the same. This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series -satisfying combat, breathtaking scale, and a powerful narrative – and fuses them anew,” Amazon’s description says. We had a God of War book in 2010, though, but that wasn’t set in the Norse gods’ territory…

God of War: The Official Novelization will be available from August 28. It costs ten bucks on Kindle, and 15 dollars in paperback format, respectively. You can pre-order it here, and it seems there might be an audiobook version in the works, too.
