The new engine of the game will allow a more realistic and discreet approach to this once mocked object.
Anyone who has played Dead or Alive 5 – or any previous installment, in fact – will no doubt remember the exaggerated physicality of the breasts of their female characters. It will not be like that in Dead or Alive 6. Yohei Shimbori, director of the game, clarified in the past that it would reduce the degree of sexualization in this installment, maintaining (but softening) these infamous physiques. How is the result? You can see it in this new video.
The demonstration in question is not a trailer, but just a small preview that Shimbori showed to DualShockers at the last GamesCom 2018 to illustrate the novelties in this regard. The process is long and is not yet finished, but it certainly poses a more realistic approach to physics. Moreover, as the creative explains, the clothes of the fighters also affects the behaviour of their own body: Kasumi’s outfit is so hard that it hardly shows any movement, and Hitomi’s is partially restricted following the practices of real karatekas.
Dead or Alive 6 will leave behind the Soft Engine in favour of a new graphics engine that has no name yet, but which is working hard within Koei Tecmo. The launch of the game will take place on PC, PS4 and Xbox One at the beginning of 2019. Hopefully, more details will be given soon.
