The Witcher: Several Roles Have Been Cast!

MOVIE NEWS – Ciri, Yennefer, and many more roles have been filled for the upcoming The Witcher Netflix-series.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Ciri’s role will be filled by Freya Allan (The War of the Worlds, Into the Badlands), and Yennefer will be acted by Anya Chalotra (The ABC Murders, Wanderlust). That’s not all – multiple supporting, minor roles have been cast as well.

Queen Calanthe will be Jodhi May (Game of Thrones, Genius) as Queen Calanthe, and her husband, the knight Eist Tuirseach, will be Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson (Fortitude). Adam Levy (Knightfall, Snatch) will be the druid Mousesack, who you might know as Ermion from The Witcher 3, Tissaia de Vries, the Aretuza magical academy’s head’s role will be taken by MyAnna Buring, and Millie Brady will be the outcast Princess Renfri. NX confirmed two more roles: Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina Glevissig, and Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla Vigo.

WCCFTech believes that going by the cast, the series will be based on The Last Wish book, but several roles, such as Dandelion’s, Duny’s, and Pavetta’s, have not been filled/confirmed yet.

The series, which will be based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s book/books, will have eight episodes, and they will be directed by Alik Sakharov (Games of Thrones, Rome), Alex Garcia Lopez (Daredevil, Fear The Walking Dead), and Charlotte Brändström (Colony, The Disappearance). There’s no release date yet. 2019 was rumoured before.
