Eisenhorn: Warhammer 40K Is Getting A TV Series!

MOVIE NEWS – The creator of 2015 The Man in the High Castle series will be behind the series based on Warhammer 40000 (or 40K), which will be called Eisenhorn.

Games Workshop and Big Light Productions announced that the latter company’s CEO, Frank Spotnitz will be Eisenhorn‘s executive producer and showrunner. As Spotnitz already has experience in television (The Man in the High Castle is currently in its fourth season), there will be no problem on this front. (He previously was a writer for X-Files, too.) Eisenhorn will be a live-action sci-fi fantasy series, focusing on Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn’s character, who previously got a novel trilogy, as well as a 3D adventure game called Eisenhorn: XENOS.

„We’re thrilled to be working with Frank and his team at Big Light. Warhammer 40,000 has a massive global fanbase – they are a passionate community of Warhammer hobbyists who love to engage with our characters, stories and games. I’m truly delighted we can develop a show that will reward their loyalty. Inquisitor Eisenhorn represents one of the best-loved characters within our worlds, and we’re excited to share his exploits and adventures with audiences new and old. Frank and his outstanding team at Big Light have done amazing things with other properties, bringing complex worlds to the screen, and we can’t wait to see what our partnership produces for the grim darkness of Warhammer 40,000,” said Games Workshop global head of marketing and media Andy Smillie.

We don’t know where Eisenhorn will be seen. No platform, specific broadcaster, or even a release window has been announced yet, which means Eisenhorn is probably in its early days, and we’ll have to wait about a year until we start to get new, reasonable information about the series. We can be patient, though.
