Concrete Genie: The Gamers Asked, the Developers Listened!

The developers have responded to a Twitter request for Concrete Genie – A+ in humanity for Pixelopus!

A Twitter user has expressed disappointment in June 2018 (!): „I am heartbroken [that] Concrete Genie is motion control. ): Is it possible to paint without motion controls? I was SO excited about this but motion controls cause me a lot of pain and injury. It’s also extremely difficult for me to do accurately due to disability. Please, tell me I can play too, Pixelopus!” This tweet has been largely ignored until the first days of August 2019…

…but then, out of nowhere, Pixelopus has responded (): „Hi! Sorry, it has taken us so long to reply to this thread. Concrete Genie now has a right stick control option in its accessibility options and allows you to adjust its sensitivity in controlling the cursor. We hope it helps you play our game when it comes out!”

What a wonderful move by Pixelopus – sure, they needed some (?) time to respond, but since the game hasn’t launched yet (it’s been delayed), the result is what will matter. So props to Pixelopus for taking time to make Concrete Genie playable for as many people as possible. Concrete Genie is a game about a bullied teenager named Ash, who escapes his troubles by painting spectacular living landscapes and mischievous creatures throughout his abandoned hometown of Denska. As he masters this magical paint, he discovers it can purify Denska’s polluted walls. Can Ash overcome the bullies and paint his hometown back to life?”, the late October 2017 announcement (Paris Games Week) press release says.

Concrete Genie is out on October 8/9 (Americas/Europe), exclusively on PlayStation 4. Earlier this week, we wrote about its Digital Deluxe Edition aside from the confirmed release date.
