Days Gone’s Developers Already Work On Their Next Game

Sony Interactive Entertainment Bend Studio is already concentrating on the next console generation.

Bubsy 3D, Syphon Filter, Syphon Filter 2, Syphon Filter 3, Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow, Resistance: Retribution, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, Days Gone – these are the games that the team worked on so far. Bubsy 3D, easily one of the worst games of the fifth console generation, was made under a former name, Eidetic. They quickly turned things around with Syphon Filter, which became one of the essential PlayStation-exclusive IPs of that time. Since then, some time has passed, and despite hints at Days Gone, the team’s PlayStation 4-exclusive game, seemingly being in the same universe as Syphon Filter, we don’t think Logan might return.

We might be wrong, though. Jeremy Vickery’s name might not say a lot, but he led the lighting team in Days Gone, and his LinkedIn profile says he is „now involved in the pre-production planning for our next title.” So Sony Interactive Entertainment Bend Studio didn’t take much of a break if they are already into the pre-production phase of their next game. We have yet to see what it could be. Three guesses: it could either be a Days Gone sequel (seems unlikely), a return to Syphon Filter (which could work if the PlayStation 5’s rumour about complete backwards compatibility is true), or a brand new IP, which would be risky, as Days Gone itself was one.

If Sony is out at E3 next year, they might already announce SIE Bend’s next game, as they like to reveal titles 1.5-2 years before their launch.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
