Will Resident Evil 3 Remake Be Referenced By 2? [VIDEO]

Resident Evil 3 Remake, announced during the recent State of Play, might be getting referenced in the second game’s remake, which came out in January.

If you look at the 5+ million sales-having Resident Evil 2 Remake’s Steam achievements page it includes one that nobody has achieved, as it’s likely not in the game yet. The achievement is called „Chasing Jill,” and its description reads „Read a letter left behind by Jill.” It makes sense, as Resident Evil 2’s events are sandwiched by 3’s. Capcom is preparing for something, but we have yet to see what.

On YouTube, there’s also a comparison video, which puts the 1999 PS1 original of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis with the upcoming remake, developed by M-Two. As with 2, the developers seem to have kept the heart of the original, meaning the remake is possibly going to be another good one on April 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, when it launches.

Finally, there’s something from Resident Evil: Resistance, essentially the multiplayer component of Resident Evil 3. Somehow, the developers (who are Neobards Entertainment) managed to bring back something that was seen in the past in Japanese-developed titles. We mean that the Western names could have been awkward. Here’s a prime example via a tweet: „Fighting Baseball for [the] Super Famicom. Some Japanese guy had to come up with a whole league of fake American names.” Let’s quote a few examples: Sleve McDichael, Willie Dustice, Jeromy Gride, Onson Sweemey, Scott Dourque, Anatoli Smorin, Mike Truk, Tony Smehrik, Mario McAlwain… they sound weird, don’t they?

„Meet Martin Sandwich, one of the Survivors in Resident Evil Resistance, a 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer game included with Resident Evil 3. A skilled engineer and mechanic, Martin can create traps to slow down or stun enemies,” Resident Evil’s Twitter account writes. WHAT KIND OF NAME IS THAT? It reminds us of the first Resident Evil’s memorable, albeit meme-y, scene…

Resident Evil: Resistance also launches on April 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
