Is The Initiative Working On A Perfect Dark Game? [VIDEO]

Microsoft‘s new studio, located in Santa Monica, California, keeps adding more people.

The Initiative is quickly becoming the elite studio if Microsoft, as it keeps hiring more people with experience in bigger games’ developments, such as Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto V, Sunset Overdrive, Uncharted, and God of War. We don’t know what the team could be developing, but Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, already said in February that he has played the team’s next game, plus Matt Booty, the head of Xbox Game Studios, confirmed that this project will be revealed this year. (Possibly during Microsoft’s not-E3 show.)

Christopher Ng, with no relation to the PC game BeamNG, has some information about this game on his LinkedIn page, revealing a few details.

This list does seem to support the rumours about a potential Perfect Dark game – this game was previously one of the bigger titles of the Nintendo 64 before its dev team, Rare, was acquired by Microsoft. But back to the image, it seems the Unreal Engine 4-using project could be coming with gadgets, weaponry, a camera surveillance system, destructible objects, hazards, and triggers.

Speaking of The Initiative, we have another person joining this illustrious team. Sylvia Chambers, who works as an animator, has previously worked on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy at Naughty Dog, and Battlefield V at DICE, respectively. Her LinkedIn page mentions that she is a contracted employee at Microsoft, and she started working in April. You can see her demo reel below.

Microsoft might be going to reveal The Initiative’s next game (which has been in development for about two years by this point) in a few weeks. It’s in development for the Xbox Series X and the PC. Let’s be patient for a little longer.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
