Phil Spencer On The Expected Launch Titles Of The Xbox Series X

“We’re making the most diverse game catalog in Xbox’s history on the Xbox Series X,” promises Phil Spencer.

It is just two days before the Xbox Series X event begins. On Thursday, Microsoft will showcase the exclusive and cross-platform titles of its next-generation console in a presentation with preshow included. One that promises to be full of interesting news if we stick to the words of Phil Spencer. And the head of Xbox has promised that Xbox Series X will have the most varied catalog of exclusives in the history of the brand.

In a few words for Polygon, Spencer has commented on the subject of exclusive games and teams at Xbox Game Studios. Following the unification of its studios, Microsoft has acquired numerous companies in recent years, such as Obsidian, Ninja Theory or inXile, to nurture its portfolio, in addition to creating a new one, The Initiative, which is working on a mysterious project. There are 15 studios with different backgrounds, and for Phil Spencer, the result of this will be seen by offering “the most diverse collection of first-party games we’ve ever had.” Not only will there be a varied range of exclusives, but also a robust launch catalog, or so the Xbox manager says.

“Honestly, I think we are in the best launch catalog situation ever for Xbox,” says Spencer.

“When I think about the strength and depth of the games that people are going to be able to enjoy on Xbox Series X, not only because of the backward compatibility, and the way in which Game Pass really makes it possible to monetize the cost of owning the console, I think it is a real fortress .” In this sense, Spencer highlights not only the launch titles, but also the way in which backwards compatibility and services such as Xbox Game Pass add to that proposal to nurture its ecosystem.

The last time we had a Halo at a console launch was in 2001.

Although, of course, the highlight of this catalog has a first and last name: Halo Infinite.

“You know, we also have Halo. The last time we had a Halo at a console launch was in 2001. And we have a great feeling with Halo,” adds Phil Spencer. Given his words, it seems that the presentation of the Xbox Series X games will offer a good variety of titles to its users, and we will have to be attentive to what the company from Redmond has to show before the launch of their console.

By the way, Spencer highlighted one more thing in a recent interview: he is proud of what the Xbox can now show in the field of Japanese games. Rightly so, we think the machine has come a long way.

And on Thursday comes the Xbox Series X event! Don’t miss it! (We won’t!)
