Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Revived Myths [VIDEO]

Creatures and Warriors from Folklore: Ubisoft’s new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla video reveals the tales hidden in the game that comes to life.

It is almost an open secret that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is going to be one of the games with which many users release PS5 and Xbox Series X since it seems that its release in November will coincide with the new generation. The new title of the franchise will put us in the shoes of Eivor, and we will be able to select its genre. Now, Ubisoft has revealed more information on one of the previously announced features.

In the second Future Games Show organized by GamesRadar, the French developer has shown new gameplay related to the mythological beasts that we will find in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In the video, we see Eivor taking on a black dog named “Black Shuck”. According to the narrative director of the game, Darby McDevitt, “Shuck” is an old word and could be translated as “devil”.

This beast, indeed, arises from mythology and popular stories told in England. In addition to that dog, in the video, we also see other mythological creatures that will be in the game, such as the daughters of Lyrian (a “tribute” from Ubisoft to Shakespeare) who have powers, and six warriors who are followers of a legendary Viking, Ragnar Lothbrok. The latter was murdered and these men now have no purpose in life.

McDevitt has made it clear in the video that these adventures do not belong to the main story and that in order to access them we will have to explore the world of the game. According to the developer, Ubisoft has tried to reward the player who is encouraged to deviate from the main story to find new challenges. The title will have many more mythological elements and the video has only been an approach.

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla we will play a Viking warrior who leaves Norway in search of glory and fortune in England. The game follows the trend of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, being an action and adventure game with RPG touches. The new game in the saga will arrive on November 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Google Stadia.
