Night Call: Curtains For The PlayStation 4 Version

The game underperformed, which is why Sony’s console is not going to get the port.

Monkey Moon and BlackMuffin Studio, the two French dev teams behind the noir-styled Night Call, shocked the Internet with an announcement on Twitter: „Dear PlayStation players, we’re super sorry to announce that the PlayStation 4 version of Night Call is officially cancelled. Given that the game didn’t sell quite well on other platforms, and the issues we encountered with our porting partners, we won’t be able to deliver Night Call on PlayStation 4.” Night Call is currently available on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. (The PC version arrived in July 2019. It’s also on Game Pass.)

A reply (which, according to the devs, sent the same tweet four times) said that the Xbox achievements don’t work as they do on PC, which is why three of them are broken, preventing anyone from completing Night Call, which, according to the reply, is causing a negative snowball effect that would prevent others from playing or enjoying the game (a bit exaggerating). The devs had a snappy response: „In the original tweet, we mention issues with the team in charge of porting the game. That also explains why the achievements have been fixed a long time ago on PC but other versions have never been patched. We’re doing our best to patch other versions and especially Xbox. Sorry for the delay.”

Regarding the game that was published by Raw Fury, they added: „Please note that we’re probably as disappointed as you are, but we just can’t afford it.” Since then, several people bought Night Call, but it might be a little too late to help the devs. And a physical release is also unlikely due to the current situation.

Perhaps they could pull a last resort move by trying crowdfunding the PlayStation 4 port of Night Call, and then, they could say that they tried their best.
