José Mourinho jokes about Fortnite: “Footballers spend all night playing that sh*t”.

The AS Roma coach is not passionate about the Fortnite battle royale’s success among his players.

Fortnite’s success since 2017 has generated all sorts of opinions from all sorts of different quarters. Where for some it’s their favourite game to play with friends, for others it’s a title that doesn’t appeal to them at all. And then there’s Jose Mourinho, football great and current AS Roma coach, who finds Epic Games‘ free-to-play battle royale straight up a “nightmare”. Why? Because it keeps his players up all night, simple as that.

Roma’s official account posted a video this weekend where Jose Mourinho answered questions from fans on all sorts of topics. And one of them was related to Fortnite. Of course, the former Real Madrid coach gave his opinion in his characteristic style: “It’s a nightmare. Footballers stay up all night playing that sh*t, and the next day they have a match! Lucky he doesn’t coach Ousmane Dembelé….

Of course, the coach’s smile reflected the humorous tone of his response, although it seems clear that José Mourinho is not passionate about Fortnite. Not surprisingly, we discovered last year that Mourinho’s real passion is Football Manager.

Coaches and footballers aside, this morning we learned that Ariana Grande will be playing several concerts in Fortnite this weekend. A big-name collaboration that comes just weeks after LeBron James’ skin was released in the battle royale, and days after Epic introduced a Ferrari into Fortnite games.
