The Gamescom 2021 opening will feature more than 30 games and plenty of surprises

As usual, the Gamescom Opening Night Live gala will be hosted by Geoff Keighley.

We’re finally entering the final stretch of summer; sorry to depress readers… It also marks the start of the industry event season with a start we all know all too well. Indeed, we’re talking about Gamescom 2021 and the familiar opening night, the gala hosted by Geoff Keighley next week – here’s the date and time – which will be packed with announcements for gaming fans.

In a new press release, the Canadian presenter starts to warm up the engines with a striking fact about his presentation: the Gamescom Opening Night Live will showcase over 30 different titles, including new and established games.

However, we're now wondering the PlayStation 4 NEO will be revealed, because going by the predicted Japanese PS4 shortages, the stronger model might be available from October.

“The community can expect new game launches, updates on anticipated games, and other surprises with guests on stage, and much more – all streamed live to fans around the world,” Keighley added. The Gamescom 2021 Opening Gala will take place on 25 August at 20:00 (CET) and last for approximately two hours.

The event will also be streamed on the show’s Twitch and YouTube channels. So far, companies such as EA, SEGA and Ubisoft have confirmed their participation at the show, while others, such as Xbox, have even confirmed the date of their live stream. What games are you expecting to see at next week’s gala?
