Abandoned: New Content Coming Soon To The App; Standalone Prologue

It’s not easy to apply any positive marketing to Blue Box Game Studios and Abandoned game (because the small, supposedly Dutch studio was looking for trouble themselves).

We read on the Twitter account of the Hasan Kahraman-led studio what the current plans are: “[Prologue is] a standalone game. We will provide more information regarding the Prologue shortly on the website. At the same time, we are also closing in to release a new trailer for the app, but we can’t provide a precise date for this just yet.”

While it sounds good so far, but then there’s the similarly hyped Realtime Experiences app, which was nothing more than the first teaser video the Dutch team had posted on Twitter earlier (and while it sounds pretty hair-raising and comical, unfortunately, we aren’t making this up!). That app is currently not of much use, and the “blue box team” is aware of this.

And in another tweet, they added: “[Providing a time window] is a challenge. We don’t want to make the same mistakes again. So a precise date for this is hard to say. All we can say is “shortly”, it won’t take long anymore. We want to set the right presentation in the trailer.” (It’s funny because in the teaser… what they presented was pretty lame.)

So Prologue could be like Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. However, there is a crucial difference that we should not forget: the Prologue will be free, and it won’t be part of the Realtime Experiences app. That said, the strategy that Blue Box is doing is a bit incomprehensible. We only hope that the whole game (whatever its name will be, as even Abandoned is a working title) won’t be a significant disappointment.
