Did 2022’s First PlayStation Plus Line-Up Leak?

Sony is unable to halt the leaks within the company. Once again, several days before the official announcement, we can now reveal what games could be free in January for those who subscribe to PlayStation Plus…

This situation is PlayStation’s running gag: we got used to hearing early from Sony’s camp what the players who spend a ton of cash to obtain unrestricted online multiplayer on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 can add to their game library in a little less than two weeks (having access to them until their PlayStation Plus subscription runs out). There is no difference here either: a French site, Dealabs is the site that keeps leaking the details.

There will be one PlayStation 4-only game in January, namely Persona 5 Strikers (we’ll quote the official blurb for each game in brackets: “Join the Phantom Thieves and fight back against the corruption that is spreading across Japanese cities. A summer vacation with friends comes to an end when a distorted reality emerges: unveil the truth and make the hearts of those who have been trapped in the centre of the singularity shine!”)

However, PlayStation 5 users get access to titles (with each having their PlayStation 4 version available, too, according to the leak). They are Deep Rock Galactic (“A co-op Sci-Fi FPS featuring tough guy space dwarves, 100% destructible environments, procedurally-generated caves, and endless hordes of alien monsters.”) and DIRT 5 (“The most ambitious title to date in Codemasters’ legendary off-road franchise to date. With a host of new features and jaw-dropping action, DIRT 5 gives you epic races, rock-solid customization and unmistakable style.”).

We’ll point out that the list is official yet. We’ll have to wait until Wednesday (because, as always, Sony reveals the official line-up on the Wednesday before the first Tuesday of the following month). It might be a decent list for once.
