Is There Connection Between The Kenobi Series And Fallen Order? Ewan McGregor Spoke! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Disney+’s new Obi-Wan Kenobi series has some of the same elements as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will premiere on Disney+ on May 27, and with it will come the return of some of the most important characters from the Star Wars universe. The Kenobi premiere isn’t just good news for sci-fi fans, though, as everyone who enjoyed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has reason to look forward to the sequel.

Following the trailer’s release for the Disney+ series in March, we wrote about the possible parallels with Respawn Entertainment’s title.

But if that wasn’t enough, actor Ewan McGregor, who plays the legendary Jedi Master, spoke about the plot of the series and how it needs to be in line with the video games in an interview shared by IGN.

The actor highlighted director Deborah Chow’s work and efforts to bring together the different mediums in which the franchise takes place, “All the plots… all the plots have to match,” Ewan McGregor explained, “you can’t do something in a video game that doesn’t fit with the movies.” The actor emphasises the importance of the events that took place in the saga’s video games and how they need to be reflected in the new series and its plot development. We’ll just have to wait for the premiere to see how much of a connection with the games we’ll see in Kenobi.

While there may be references to several Star Wars video games, it looks like the new Kenobi series will indeed reference Jedi: Fallen Order here and there: for example, the latest trailer for the series features Purge Troopers, which definitely came as a surprise to fans of the Respawn title – we can be sure that the connection between the two productions will not end there…
