Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Could It Be Coming Sooner Than Expected?! [VIDEO]

According to a recent leak, Basim Ibn Ishaq will return in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, currently codenamed Rift.

It’s about time, we might add, for news on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, as it’s been almost two years since the last in the series, Valhalla, was released, which means another instalment is definitely due – and it looks like we’ll be getting our first look at the next one at the Ubisoft Forward event in September.

The latest Ubisoft leak comes from the mouth of YouTuber j0nathan (as interpreted by Rebs Gaming), who claimed in a recent video that the new game would be appropriately titled Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

The game will be set in Baghdad between 860 and 870 AD, returning to the original Assassin’s Creed style of play, and is expected to be released in Spring 2023.

The leak refers to an Assassin’s Creed spin-off game codenamed Rift, which was revealed earlier this year. Originally envisioned as a companion to Valhalla, Ubisoft decided to expand it into a standalone game to strengthen the Assassin’s Creed family.

According to a Bloomberg report that revealed Rift, the game will star Basim Ibn Ishaq’s character, will be smaller than recent releases in the series, and will focus on stealth gameplay.

All of this matches j0nathan’s video, and Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier – who wrote the February report on Rift – said on Twitter that parts of the report, including the new game’s title, location, “back to basics” gameplay, and release target, are accurate.

He added, however, that other elements, including the fact that multiple cities will be explored, are incorrect and expressed doubt that an Assassin’s Creed remake will be included as part of the Mirage season pass.
