Elden Ring Got A Massive Patch – DLC Coming Soon?!

After patch 1.07, data miners seem to have discovered signs of the long-awaited expansion of the Elden Ring.

Another major update is shaking up the world of Elden Ring. This time, FromSoftware is calibrating the changes differently depending on whether you’re playing the main game or mowing down your enemies in PVP. This is in response to a long-standing request from fans to balance the two sides of the game separately. And just in time, too, as new clues recently discovered by Elden Ring phishers suggest that an expansion is imminent.

Patch 1.07 went live on Thursday, and the most significant change is the addition of separate damage scaling for PvP.

“This feature allows separate damage scaling for Weapons, Skills, Spells, and Incantations when playing against other players,” FromSoftware says. “In the future, this feature may be used to balance weapons, Art, Spell, and Incantation in invading/PvP mode.”

This means that players can enjoy their “broken” (i.e. not precisely balanced) builds while playing solo without worrying about being nerfed by FromSoftware when trying to make things fairer in online multiplayer. This was previously a problem with the bloody Rivers of Blood loadouts. These have been fixed by FromSoftware in PVP, only to cause outrage among solo players who could no longer rely on specific methods to defeat the most challenging bosses in the Elden Ring.

For example, patch 1.07 reduced the power of Ashes of War everywhere but PVP. It did the same for spells like Ekzykes’s Decay and Agheel’s Flame while simultaneously improving poise damage and stamina attack power. The result should provide a more balanced multiplayer experience without undermining how people have fun in the main game.

The rest of the update includes an extensive list of changes and balance adjustments to weapon combat, magic, spells and abilities, as well as several bug fixes.

Mage character building, in particular, will benefit significantly from this patch, as many skills now cost less FP than before. Many moves also have faster cast times, and armour has a better hold in almost all areas. This is good news for anyone who wears that ugly goat armour for protection. There is now a wider choice available to fashion enthusiasts.

One thing they nerfed, however, is squat poking. At least those with colossal swords now have a good thing going for them. It’s one of the most significant overhauls the game has received in a while and probably sets up the next phase of Elden Ring before some long-awaited DLC.
