Hideo Kojima recently appeared alongside Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan as rumours of a sequel to Death Stranding swirl.

 

 

In a picture posted on Hideo Kojima’s Twitter, many fans immediately associated with Death Stranding 2. The photo shows Kojima with Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan. Several rumours about a sequel to Kojima Productions’ debut game have surfaced recently. Now Kojima has again fuelled the rumours with a recent appearance alongside Jim Ryan.

In Kojima’s tweet, the Kojima Productions founder is seen alongside Sony Interactive CEO Jim Ryan, who has a lot of work in common.

The tweet seems harmless, as Kojima is one of the most recognisable creators in the industry. But the appearance alongside the PlayStation boss comes simultaneously as rumours of a Death Stranding sequel have been swirling. The pose with Ryan is significant because Death Stranding has PlayStation-exclusive status on consoles.

It’s just one element in a series of events with fans speculating that Death Stranding 2 is in the works at Kojima Productions. The latest teasers have already hinted at the first member of the game’s cast, confirming that actress Elle Fanning will also appear in Kojima Productions’ new game. Fanning will be voice acting in a video game for the first time, having previously appeared in films such as Super 8 and Maleficent.

A reliable Sony leaker has even suggested that Kojima Productions’ upcoming game will actually be the rumoured Death Stranding 2.

Many fans have speculated about Hideo Kojima appearing with Jim Ryan. But the iconic director often appears on social media with prominent figures in the games industry. The Metal Gear Solid creator is very active on Twitter. He usually posts pictures of himself with gaming personalities such as Geoff Keighley and Hermen Hulst. Kojima regularly shares his opinions on various games and media on his Twitter feed. He recently praised the anime adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077, Edgerunners. The Kojima Productions boss also recently launched his own podcast where he talks about his creative process.

There has been no official confirmation on a possible sequel to Death Stranding, but recent news has provided a wealth of new information on the franchise as a whole. Death Stranding was added to the PC Game Pass in August of this year. Kojima’s appearance with Jim Ryan will spark even more rumours as fans wait on pins and needles for news on Death Stranding 2.
