Hogwarts Legacy: Could The Game Be Delayed On Some Platforms?!

Some versions of the upcoming open-world Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy will be delayed – but the Switch version finally has a release date!

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy have been delayed. But the Switch version finally has a final release date. This week promises to be a busy one for those looking forward to the upcoming Harry Potter game.

Today, Hogwarts Legacy is hosting a new gameplay demo focusing on advanced combat, broom flying and the Room of Requirement.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy will be delayed until April 4, 2023. In addition, the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy, which fans have known for some time, will not be released on the same day as the other versions and has been given a release date of July 25, 2023. The delay allows the team to “deliver the best possible gaming experience across all platforms”. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Hogwarts Legacy will not be affected by the delay and will continue to be released on the previously announced release date.

Without further delay, the game’s PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will be available on February 10. Those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition or Collector’s Edition of the game will get access 72 hours early, meaning they can start their Roxfort adventure as early as February 7.

Needless to say, many fans will probably be upset by this news, as it means that they will now have to wait another two months to play the long-awaited game.

This also dramatically increases the chances that those playing on PS4 and Xbox One will get spoilers for the Hogwarts Legacy story. That’s because PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X players can play the game much earlier than them.

For those who can afford to buy a new console, the good news is that it’s much easier to do so now than it was a year ago. The PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles have seen a dramatic increase in supply for the festive shopping season. So for those who have the money and don’t want to wait any longer to play the game, now might be a good time to invest in a new console.
