An image of Assassin’s Creed Mirage has leaked online, potentially revealing a new feature coming to Ubisoft’s Bordeaux action-adventure game.
If the recently leaked image of Assassin’s Creed Mirage is indeed accurate, it makes sense that the game could be getting a new feature: the investigation. If so, hopefully, Ubisoft will show this off relatively soon and in real life.
It’s been several months since Ubisoft has made any significant revelations about Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and fans have been hoping for gameplay for some time now.
This image comes from Redditor xj0nathan, who, in case anyone doesn’t know, has some profound experience in the AC community. That being said, there’s no harm in being cautious, but xj0nathan has been proven right quite a few times. He posted a picture showing the menu for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Here we can see the inventory and tools, which is no surprise. However, there is also an “investigation” tab. Now, it’s entirely possible that this tab just lists the targets Basim needs to assassinate. But it is also possible that it implies that players will actually have to investigate, find out their identity and otherwise narrow down the targets they want to target through investigative gameplay. This could even go as far as a Batman: Arkham-style investigation, although this is, of course, pure speculation.
xJ0nathan’s text asks why he is not sharing more news about the game. He argues that he would like his sources to share more in the future, and the bottom text adds that there will come a time for everything.
Perhaps this could lead to a unique approach to each of Basim’s assassinations. Ubisoft has previously stated that this game will focus on the three main pillars of the series. So assassinations, stealth and parkour. The addition of investigations would at least be a mix of the first two. But what that means is yet to be seen.
Theoretically, it could be the general mission tab or something like the AC Valhalla Order of the Ancients menu, but investigations would mean at least a bit more.
For now, there’s a lot of rumours and speculation circulating around Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Because it pays homage to the first game, because it features fan-favourite character Basim, and because it returns to the series’ roots, many fans are no doubt excited about the title. Hopefully, it will live up to that hype.
