Vin Diesel Reveals What To Expect From Riddick In The New Movie!

MOVIE NEWS – The fourth film in the Riddick franchise, Riddick: Furya, is already in development – and Vin Diesel has revealed what it will look like.

Action star Vin Diesel has revealed new insight into the upcoming fourth instalment in the Riddick franchise, Riddick: Furya. On social media, Diesel shared a powerful new concept image. It teases the character’s long-awaited return to the afterlife with unique abilities.

Alongside the epic image, he simply captioned it “The Furyan”, and this latest look could ensure that fans of the mysterious warrior are eagerly awaiting his return.

A return that has been a decade in the making. Vin Diesel debuted in the superb atmospheric sci-fi chamber horror Pitch Black over two decades ago. The last time audiences saw Vin Diesel in the role was in 2013, in director David Twohy’s Riddick. Following his space opera The Chronicles of Riddick in 2004, Riddick brought things back to a small scale. It received mixed reviews, but the character remains one of Diesel’s most memorable performances. And fans are excited to see what’s next.

So Riddick: Furya delves deeper into the character’s mysterious origins. “In the new film, Riddick finally returns to his home world, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins by the Necromongers,” reads the official description of Riddick: Furya. “But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new enemy. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.”

Riddick: Furya, which will once again be written and directed by David Twohy alongside creators Jim and Ken Wheat, has no release date yet. It is currently in pre-production.

What’s in store for the iconic Vin Diesel character?

Since the release of Pitch Black in 2000, the franchise, and specifically the character of Richard B. Riddick, has grown a lot. Returning director David Twohy says he and Diesel couldn’t ignore the call from fans to continue the journey. As the director recently stated:

“Our legion fans have demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honour their call to action with Riddick: Furya,” the filmmaker said.

“My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet.”

“This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis.”
