Scarlett Johansson Finally Opens Up About Her “Top Secret” Marvel Project!

MOVIE NEWS – Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson is working on a “top secret” project with Marvel Studios. We finally got some information from the actress herself.

Natasha Romanoff’s journey in the Marvel Universe ended with Black Widow. After appearing in several other films, this was the character’s first solo film. However, Scarlett Johansson’s relationship with Marvel Studios is not over yet. It has been confirmed that she is working on a “top secret” project with the studio, and she has now revealed that it is “still happening”.

MCU fans could see Johansson bid farewell to one of her most iconic characters in 2021’s Black Widow, Romanoff’s final live-action appearance.

Shortly after the film’s release, Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed that Johansson was working with Marvel Studios on something in a producing capacity. He called it a “non-Black Widow-related top-secret Marvel Studios project.” The comment seemed cryptic enough, but Johansson is still on board.

Feige also recently revealed the MCU Phase 5 and 6 projects, but none of them seemed to be Johansson’s secret project. However, Johansson said in an interview with ComicBook.com that the project is still ongoing but on hiatus. “It is still happening, [but] not currently because nothing is happening right now. We’re all sort of in this holding pattern as we wait out the writers’ strike and potentially our own guild strike, and so on and so forth,” she confirmed. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) recently went on strike, causing delays to several significant projects, films and TV series.

WGA members went on strike on 2 May 2023. This follows the failure of negotiations with the Film and Television Producers Association. Some 11 500 people responsible for writing the series and films consumed by fans have not gone to work since. Their demands include streaming compensation and benefits packages.

Since the strike began, some significant projects have been affected, including Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4 and Disney’s Star Wars productions.

All films or series that were in the writing or pre-production phase at the start of the strike have been affected. For some projects, such as Daredevil: Born Again, the strikes in front of the studios forced a pause in filming. Johansson’s secret Marvel project may have been in the writing phase. While the writers are on strike, many films and series can’t pick up where they left off and must wait for negotiations.
