Host Geoff Keighley offers even more incentive to watch The Game Awards. Free Steam Deck OLED consoles will be raffled at the event!

 

 

As if that wasn’t enough reason to tune in this year, fans can win a new Steam Deck OLED console at The Game Awards 2023. Valve released the new model a few weeks ago. Thanks to the upcoming prize draw, even more players can get their hands on the device.

Despite its name, the Steam Deck OLED has many more improvements than the admittedly impressive display.

In fact, the OLED model delivers some of the improvements fans have come to expect from the Steam Deck 2, such as more battery life and better cooling.

The remastered console costs the same as the original Steam Deck. But some lucky gamers won’t have to pay a penny for the OLED model.

The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley shares on social media that fans tuning in to the event will be entered to win one of 100 Steam Deck OLED consoles (1TB version). The giveaway is only live during The Game Awards 2023 airtime, which is from 4:30 PM PT to 8:00 PM PT. (Which, according to Central European time, is approx. 8 Dec. 1:30-5:00 AM…)

Despite Geoff Keighley’s post, according to the official rules, watching The Game Awards showcase is not required to enter. Instead, the competition will open during the event. It only requires applicants to fill out and submit a form. However, entrants can earn up to three additional entries by creating or verifying a Steam account and following @ondeck and @thegameawards on Twitter.

Whether or not the competition requires viewing of The Game Awards 2023, the show is being touted as a night that video game fans won’t want to miss.

Obviously, The Game Awards is about celebrating the best titles of the previous year. But the event also became a showcase for announcements and revelations. Even Xbox promises big announcements for The Game Awards 2023. Not to mention, games like Baldur’s Gate 3, which is finally getting an Xbox Series X/S release date, have already been confirmed to appear at the event.

Over the years, The Game Awards have seen several big announcements and reveals. This year’s show promises to be no different. Several major game announcements for The Game Awards 2023 have been leaked and rumoured. Keighley usually has a few surprises in store for such events. While some years are better than others, critics and fans alike largely agree that the show’s reveals just keep getting bigger and better.
