Final Destination: Bloodlines Brings Back the Horror with a Franchise-Worthy Death Scene

MOVIE NEWS – It has been 14 years since fans of Final Destination last got a new installment in the beloved horror franchise, but that is finally about to change with the arrival of Final Destination: Bloodlines. The latest teaser proves that Death still has plenty of creative and gruesome ways to claim its victims. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, Bloodlines features genre legend Tony Todd in one of his final film appearances, alongside Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Teo Briones (Chucky), and Kaitlyn Santa Juana (The Flash), among others.

The teaser for Final Destination: Bloodlines, released today on social media and YouTube, is exactly what fans have been hoping for—a brutal preview of the franchise’s highly anticipated sixth chapter. The footage opens with a close-up of a girl getting her tongue pierced at a tattoo parlor. Once she’s done, the annoyed tattoo artist closes up for the night, putting on a cover of Badfinger’s “Without You” while inking the word “Dad” onto his own skin. This seemingly innocent moment quickly spirals into chaos, as a series of unfortunate events leads to the man being dragged into a ceiling fan by his nose piercing before plummeting into a blazing fire. The teaser closes with the chilling tagline, “Death Runs in the Family,” followed by the official release date: May 16.

Plot details for Final Destination: Bloodlines have remained scarce, but the YouTube description offers a glimpse into the story: “If you screw with Death’s plans, things can get very… messy.” It continues: “Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly fate that awaits them all.”

An additional synopsis released last week hints at the possibility of dual timelines or at least an opening sequence set decades ago:

“In the 1960s, a grandmother predicts the collapse of a building and saves a group of people from death. Decades later, her granddaughter begins to have visions of the deaths of her family members and realizes that there is an order to it all.”

Fans React to the Final Destination: Bloodlines Teaser

Created by Jeffrey Reddick, Final Destination remains one of the most beloved horror franchises, and fans have eagerly awaited a new entry for over a decade. The teaser’s release has already sparked enthusiastic responses, with many viewers excited to see Tony Todd return for one last run. “RIP Tony Todd. Thank you for everything you’ve done for this franchise. You’ll never be forgotten,” one YouTube user commented, with others echoing similar sentiments.

“After so many fake trailers and over 10 years of waiting, it’s finally real. This is so exciting!” another user wrote. One fan pointed out the classic Final Destination irony: “Gotta love the wholesome music playing while someone is brutally killed.” Another added, “Not gonna lie, but this really gives off the vibe of the original Final Destination. I wasn’t expecting it to be this good.” It seems clear that directors Lipovsky and Stein are aiming to recapture the essence of the original films while attracting both longtime fans and new audiences.
