Peacemaker Season 2: The Multiverse Is Cracking and John Cena’s In the Middle of It

MOVIE NEWS – The first trailer for Season 2 of Peacemaker has dropped with Hungarian subtitles, bringing back familiar faces, new Superman-era characters, and a mind-bending twist. John Cena returns alongside his ragtag team, but it looks like both he and the audience are in for some big surprises.

James Gunn was nearly blacklisted by Marvel after some embarrassing tweets resurfaced — but that setback opened the door to a new phase of his career at DC. It started with The Suicide Squad, and continued with the self-absorbed, wildly entertaining Peacemaker spin-off starring John Cena as one of DC’s most offbeat antiheroes. The show packed everything fans love about Gunn: humor, emotion, action, and strong character dynamics. So naturally, we wanted more — and now we’ve got it, with the first full trailer for Season 2 now online with Hungarian subtitles.

This time around, things are just as chaotic, if not more. Chris — Peacemaker’s civilian name — is still riddled with self-doubt, unable to process the fact that he’s evolved from wannabe to actual hero, in his own strange way. His team clearly cares for him, again in their own twisted way. But existential drama isn’t the only threat on the horizon: as the trailer’s final scenes hint, impostors appear, and there may even be a full-blown multiverse situation unfolding.

What is confirmed is that Season 2 proudly plants its flag in the new DC Universe. That’s made very clear by appearances from Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, and Sean Gunn — all of whom will be introduced to audiences in July’s upcoming Superman film. The rest of the old gang is back too: Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland (yes, that Jennifer Holland), and Steve Agee all return in their familiar roles. And there’s another new face: Rick Flag Sr., previously seen in Creature Commandos, steps into live-action — still played by Frank Grillo, who also voiced the character in animation. He’s got some serious beef with Peacemaker, seeing as the guy literally killed his son in The Suicide Squad.

Oh, and somehow Robert Patrick’s villain is back from the dead, too. How exactly that works is anyone’s guess — but you can bet it’s going to be weird. All in all, the second season looks like it’ll serve up more of the same manic, gun-toting, heart-wrenching chaos that made the first such a hit. Peacemaker’s peacekeeping mission is far from over… even if it involves punching across realities to do it.
