Raidou Remastered: Lots of New Details from Switch 2 Version to System Requirements

Atlus’ upcoming remaster has revealed new characters, locations, and replayability elements ahead of release.

As Raidou investigates his latest case, he’ll cross paths with a wide array of characters. For the first time, all major story characters will feature full voice acting. Dr. Tsukumo (voiced by Tachiki Fumihiko) is a self-proclaimed scientist uninterested in anything outside his research. Obsessed with launching a homemade rocket, he works day and night inside a shack on the outskirts of Fukagawa-cho known as the “Amazing Science Lab.” His dedication and blunt honesty have earned him the community’s affection.

The owner of Restaurant Ryugu (voiced by Ito Shizuka) runs a high-end establishment on the edge of Ginza-cho that attracts VIPs from politics, business, and the military. Narumi owes her a hefty tab and seems incapable of refusing her. She’s a natural leader who also manages her family’s trading enterprise alongside the restaurant.

Denpachi Iida (voiced by Takahashi Shinya) is a hardworking rickshaw runner employed at Ryugu. After losing his parents at a young age, he now supports his younger sister. Though proud of his work, he feels frustrated as cars gradually steal away his clientele.

Diverse Cityscapes and New Locations

Raidou will travel across various districts and facilities in the capital, exploring a spectrum of atmospheres—from Western-style brick roads to nostalgic Edo-era neighborhoods. Tsukudo-cho features rows of shops visited by people of all ages. The Narumi Detective Agency is located here and serves as the main base for Raidou and his allies.

Fukagawa-cho is undergoing Westernization but retains its deep Edo character, with simple row houses and lively attractions like public baths and street tents. Ginza-cho is the most bustling downtown area, filled with streetcars, automobiles, and towering buildings. Harumi-cho, a port district, blends brick buildings and churches with heavy international traffic, making it a hub for sailors and foreigners alike.

Gameplay Functions, Side Activities, and Bonuses

At the Narumi Detective Agency in Tsukudo-cho, you can save your game, heal, and check your investigation progress. If you have specific items, you can play mahjong, challenge Narumi or your demons, and earn money based on your performance.

The Konnou-ya antique shop sells various tools for battle and Sword Alchemy materials. At the Shin-Sekai Soda Parlor, a popular Devil Summoner hangout, you can buy drinks that temporarily boost Raidou’s stats or skills. The Nameless Shrine is linked to the Yatagarasu; completing special steps allows you to meet its Herald and unlock a demon-infested realm.

The Training Hall, accessed via the shrine’s washroom, unleashes Yatagarasu-controlled demons for rigorous combat practice. There are ten floors of escalating difficulty based on your skill level. The Trial of a Hundred Demons awaits within—defeat 100 enemies within a time limit and earn rewards from the Herald.

DLC, Platforms, and System Requirements

Several DLCs are on the way. The Kuzunoha Village Training pack (880 yen, approx. $10) offers three training methods for fast XP, stat, and money gain. Demons of the Aril Rift (also 880 yen) includes a Hundred Demons challenge and four unique skill books for upgrading your demons. The Raidou’s Glasses DLC, bundled with first copies, equips your hero with eyewear. On July 3, the free Demonic Designations DLC adds ten new titles—seven from North America, three from East Asia—voted on by fans.

The Nintendo Switch version will be playable on Switch 2, but not vice versa. Save data cannot be transferred, and there are no upgrade options planned between versions. The Switch 2 release comes as a game key card that requires a separate 17 GB download, complicating game preservation. Mouse functionality will not be supported, nor will Gameshare.
