Grand Theft Auto VI: Is a Vehicle Linking It to GTA V? [VIDEO]

Fans have come up with a new theory about Rockstar’s game, but is it really a wild guess?

Fans of Grand Theft Auto VI believe that Michael De Santa’s iconic yacht from Grand Theft Auto V appears in the second trailer of the upcoming game, sparking new theories on how the stolen boat could have ended up in Jason’s possession. The latest trailer includes nearly three minutes of brand-new footage, and this yacht theory is just one of the many speculations fans have proposed following the game’s delay to 2026.

The footage introduces the two protagonists, glimpses of the open world, and potential new features. In addition to the new trailer, Rockstar Games uploaded 70 new screenshots and plenty of details to its website, giving fans lots to dissect. As players examine each frame, some noticed what looks like Michael’s yacht sitting in Jason’s backyard. The yacht originally appeared in the “Father/Son” mission in GTA V, where players team up with Franklin to recover Michael’s stolen boat. However, in the original game, the thieves escape with the yacht, and it’s never seen again… until now, maybe?

It might just be a similar model or a reused asset, but some fans believe Michael’s yacht somehow made its way to Vice City and now rests in Jason’s backyard. Redditors speculate there might even be a dialogue line referencing this, where Jason explains he bought it from an underworld figure who stole it from a rich guy in Los Santos. The theory gained even more traction after Ned Luke, who played Michael De Santa, posted this on X:

As for the release date? Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on May 26, 2026. And until then? Expect plenty more fan theories to surface…
