Nintendo Switch 2: More Accessibility Features Coming to the Platform!

The Japanese company has confirmed that it is adding a new feature to the Nintendo Switch 2 to make it easier to use and reach a larger community.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will support text-to-speech (TTS) functionality. A new gameplay video of the Game Chat feature shows players typing messages that the system then reads aloud. Although it’s not officially confirmed, the original Switch supported USB keyboards, so it’s likely the Switch 2 will too.

It will also support live subtitles during Game Chat: the chat box will transcribe other players’ speech. Players can share screens even while playing different games — one might play Mario Kart World while another streams Donkey Kong Bananza gameplay.

Game Chat will be free until March 31, 2026, after which a Switch Online subscription will be required.

Last week, Nintendo confirmed that docked mode will not support VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), but handheld mode will. A firmware update may enable VRR while docked in the future.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launches June 5. Twelve first-party titles will receive free updates. Some games will support only the new Game Share feature, letting multiple Switch consoles use a single copy for multiplayer.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
