Remedy Entertainment’s live-service Control spinoff is set to expand with new maps, enemies, and systems. The studio has revealed its long-term roadmap for the multiplayer Firebreak: in the fall and winter, two new areas of the Federal Bureau of Control will open, each bringing extra features. Every update introduces a new “job”—these are high-stakes cleanup missions, with the first codenamed Outbreak. While the schedule doesn’t detail every job, a new work area called the Research Sector is coming, with new enemies and free rewards.
The autumn update will add fresh gameplay mechanics, though Remedy hasn’t revealed what they are, or if they’re universal or Outbreak-specific. Firebreak is designed as a highly systematic co-op shooter—temperature, for instance, is a core factor affecting both your squad and your main enemy, the Hiss.

The winter update’s new mission is codenamed Blackout—which likely means you’ll be operating in the dark. It too introduces a new job area (name TBA), new enemies, and new gear. Both free updates launch alongside paid cosmetic packs called Classified Decursions, featuring skins, sprays, armor, and character voice packs.
FBC: Firebreak launches tomorrow, June 17, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. It will also be included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium.
