Red Dead Redemption Bombshell? John Marston’s Actor Sparks Frenzy, but Rockstar Remains Silent!

“I confused some people,” says the Red Dead Redemption actor, who also suggested that Rockstar would announce new features for the series, but now qualifies his words. Rob Wiethoff, who plays John Marston in the game, reiterates that something is in the works, but his role is not to announce news for Rockstar Games.

Red Dead Redemption fans have been glued to Rockstar Games’ social media channels. Just days ago, Rob Wiethoff, the original voice of John Marston, set fans buzzing with a claim that Rockstar would announce something new for the franchise “before Friday.” The day has come, but the Grand Theft Auto studio hasn’t dropped any major news about their western series. And while Wiethoff keeps hinting that something is on the horizon, he reminded everyone in a recent stream that breaking Rockstar news is not his job.

Wiethoff addressed the speculation in a live broadcast—now available on his own YouTube channel—where he demonstrated chest, triceps, and leg workouts. Not your usual video game discussion setting, but before the workout, the actor had this to say: “I think you all know this. There’s something I’m really excited about. Really. And I think you all will be, too. I really am, but I probably confused some people when I said I had ‘something to announce that I can’t talk about right now.’”

“I know you guys know this, but let me remind you, I don’t make announcements for Rockstar Games. We all know that. I’m just reminding you. I don’t make announcements for Rockstar Games. Rockstar Games makes announcements for Rockstar Games. And they don’t use me [laughs] to do that,” he continued. “I still think a lot of you guys are going to be really excited about this news. Absolutely. Also, I can’t share it with you guys yet [laughs] and I’m really sorry, but I really am excited. That’s all I’m going to say for now.”

Fans Are Hoping for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series
The upside: some kind of Red Dead Redemption news is coming, and it might involve both Wiethoff and Roger Clark, the voice of Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2. After all, Clark himself hinted on social media that he knows what Rockstar has been working on for their Western franchise. The downside? Friday came and went, and with no word from the developer, it looks like the announcement has been delayed.

Still, the community is already buzzing with speculation about what’s next for the GTA creators’ western saga: many are dreaming of a third game, but most are begging for a Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5 and Xbox Series version. Now, we just have to see if Wiethoff and Clark’s teases actually pay off.
