Multiple PlayStation 3 Games’ Online Functionality Are Getting Killed!

Three games will see their online capabilities end shortly.

These Sony Interactive Entertainment-published titles will see an online game over in just mere weeks. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (Sony’s Super Smash Bros.-clone), Twisted Metal, and Warhawk’s online functions will be shut down on October 25. In the case of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, the PlayStation Vita‘s online services are also getting disabled!

Although it’s not a PS3 game, David Jaffe (who helped create Twisted Metal and God of War) will see his project, Drawn to Death, have its servers shut down on PlayStation 4 on March 25. (Which means Jaffe will see two titles related him getting stuck offline in just half a year – the Twisted Metal reboot launched in 2012.)

We should clap Warhawk: it’s a remake of a PS1 game that started in 2007 on PlayStation 3, which means its servers have been online for eleven years. That is no mean feat for this PS3 title!

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
