Bandai Namco will soon release the story DLC and free 2.0 update for Code Vein II.

Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, Code Vein II takes players on an epic journey. They can wield time as a weapon, traverse past and present versions of an explorable world, and uncover a dramatic battle to save humanity. The Mask of Idris expansion features exploration in the Forsaken World, a setting forged from the converged passions of vanished worlds due to historical alterations. At the core of this alternate world is a colossal, swirling spindle that continuously draws in emotions from all times and spaces. It now threatens to impact the real world. As this new battle unfolds, players cross paths with Liv Voda, an alluring guardian of time and space with a combative personality.

The Mask of Idris expansion is post-game content that requires players to reach the Luna Fraterna ending of Code Vein II‘s main narrative, as well as complete the sub-mission “Valentin’s Request,” to begin the new campaign. Additionally, Bandai Namco will release update v2.0 simultaneously with the expansion. This update will implement various changes, including additional content that allows players to explore the post-main game world with their partners. More details about the free update and new content will be released at a later time.

In Code Vein II, players engage in distinctive action RPG gameplay. They use blood drained from enemies to unlock powerful skills and devise combat strategies with Blood Codes. They also use unique weapons and equipment called Jails to overcome challenging foes and epic bosses. The sequel introduces a new Partner System that allows players to seamlessly switch between two combat forms, enhancing the combat experience. The deep customization system returns for the game’s protagonist, the Revenant Hunter. Players can customize their characters with a vast array of settings for body type, hairstyle, facial expressions, accessories, makeup, and more. Players can also visit key locations, such as hot springs, to see their character in different lighting conditions. They can also use Photo Mode to capture and save their creations.

Code Vein II: Mask of Idris and the 2.0 update will be released on September 9 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
