Final Fantasy VII Remake Was Announced Too Early!

Although it had to be done after a massive mistake by Square Enix.

An Italian website, Multiplayer interviewed Tetsuya Nomura, who said the following regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake: „I am aware that we announced it very early, but in the industry, word was starting to spread that we were working on the game, so we decided to stop keeping it a secret and to reveal it officially.” (He thinks similarly about Kingdom Hearts III, but at least that game has a release date…)

He added that several important projects get leaked, mostly due to outsourcing, and the situation could be even worse if the developers have to respond to false rumours.

We have to go back to the mistake done by Square Enix, though: at the 2014 PlayStation Experience, the publisher might have made the biggest mistake of this console generation. They announced Final Fantasy VII… but it was just the port of the PC version to the PlayStation 4. Look at the crowd’s reaction in this video when the game’s logo first shows up… then at 02:38 how shocked they look. Depressive.

If only they didn’t announce this port, maybe they could have avoided an E3 2015 reveal for the Remake…
