The Cycle: A New Hope From The Devs Of Spec Ops: The Line! [VIDEO]

It seems that Yager wasn’t affected by Deep Silver kicking them out from Dead Island 2’s development.

The German developers announced a match-based first-person shooter, where we have to complete contracts in thirty minutes on Fortuna III, which the humans want to be clean of aliens. With the contract money, you can buy any gear you want on the black market, and you can even get a jetpack and a laser cannon if you want to do so. (Perhaps the guys have played a little too much Destiny, or was it Anthem that inspired them?)

In their Q&A, the devs say that the matches take roughly twenty minutes, though. Perhaps they got a heat stroke. Anyway, the game’s closed alpha will start in a few weeks, and it will hold twenty players, a ton of aliens, and the „cute wildlife” of Fortuna III. (We’re sure they have a heat stroke by this point…) The Cycle‘s prototype was created last year, and it will get an early access release by the end of this year on PC, followed by „consoles.” (Notice how they didn’t mention any… Switch?) The game, which was dubbed as a „competitive quester,” will support English, German, then Russian and Chinese later down the road.

The game’s features also include the storms (stay too much outside, and you will be stuck on the planet), pacting (which can always end with a stab in the back), crafting, and customisation.

We like the game’s planet – Yager might be up to something good here… so it’s time to sign up for the closed beta.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
