Bokeh Game Studio’s First Game Will Not Be A Hardcore Horror

The director of the first Silent Hill, as well as the creator of Siren (Forbidden Siren) and Gravity Rush, plans a horror title, but it won’t be cranked to eleven.

We previously talked about how Keiichiro Toyama (who we discussed in the previous sentence), along with Kazunobu Sato and Junya Okura, has left Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio to open a new, independent studio called Bokeh Game Studio. Toyama told IGN more about his upcoming action-adventure title in a new interview.

The game, quoting him, will be „an action-adventure game that will appeal to fans of my previous work,” which will include the „battles and story elements” you might remember from his previous games (like the three franchises we named in the first paragraph). „If anything, this will be more of a horror-oriented game, but we will focus on making this a broader entertainment experience, rather than a hardcore horror game,” Toyama added.

„We’re just entering prototype development, and development will probably take nearly three years, so we hope to get this game into your hands in about three years from now,” Sato added. The game is in development by a „fairly large” team, and as Toyama said before, they are focused on making it a multiplatform title. „We are developing with PC as the lead platform, but we hope to release the game on as many console platforms as possible,” he said.

So don’t expect this horror game (which can be seen on a concept artwork image below) before 2023, and 2022 is highly unlikely due to the coronavirus. While the game is in development, it might be a good idea to follow the studio on Twitter or Facebook, as they will provide more behind-the-scenes looks as the development progresses.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
