Cyberpunk 2077: Could The Next-Gen Version Be Available Today?!

CD Projekt RED has already announced that it will talk about its plans for the future of Cyberpunk 2077 at a special event.

Moments after CD Projekt announced a special event to talk about Cyberpunk 2077’s plans for the game’s future, a change to the Xbox Series X and S user interface leaves us with a pretty clear clue about one of the main topics of the event: the long-awaited next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077.

In fact, CD Projekt RED’s game has suddenly received the “Optimised for Xbox Series X / S” label on Microsoft’s consoles, referring to improved graphics and performance. Does this mean that the new version of Cyberpunk 2077 will be available to download tomorrow? The creators of The Witcher saga have yet to comment on this, but it looks like it could be.

CD Projekt has previously promised a next-gen version in the first quarter of 2022

Noted journalist Tom Warren of The Verge shared a picture of the Xbox UI on social media that mentioned this optimised version, although no further update has been released at the time of writing. However, he’s not the only one who has already started to see this label appear on CD Projekt’s game. So it seems logical to assume that the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 will soon be released.

After long months of silence, all information has so far been kept secret about the new version of the ambitious RPG, which – not without some controversy – was due to be released at the end of 2020. Just a few weeks ago, however, the Polish studio announced that the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 was on track, promising that it would be released in the first quarter of 2022.

When discussing possible improvements for the new version, which will also be available on PC, options such as better artificial intelligence or even additional game mechanics have been mentioned recently. Of course, as there has been no official confirmation from the people responsible for the game, we’ll have to wait a few more hours to find out what these new features are.
