Activision (you could say Microsoft, since it owns Activision Blizzard King) is also trying to help with the huge fires that are affecting Los Angeles and Southern California.
Activision has announced that it will be releasing a new cosmetic bundle for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (and Call of Duty: Warzone). It’s 2,400 CoD Points, available for $20, and is now available in the game’s store. For that you get a player skin and a matching weapon camouflage. It might be expensive, but Activision wants to help the Los Angeles Firefighters Foundation:
The LA Fire Relief Pack is now live in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone. 100% of Activision’s proceeds will be donated to relief efforts in Los Angeles. We are also donating $1 million combined to the LAFD Foundation and Direct Relief. pic.twitter.com/evNHs4qOoT

“As part of our efforts to provide support and relief in the wake of the devastating fires in Los Angeles County, Activision is donating a combined $1 million to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Foundation and Direct Relief. Starting today, we are also releasing the LA Fire Relief Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone. 100% of Activision’s proceeds from each purchase of the LA Fire Relief Pack across all platforms will go directly to the LA Fire Department Foundation and Direct Relief for local fire relief efforts and support in Southern California. As a company with deep roots in the LA area, our hearts go out to our friends, colleagues and residents affected by the devastating fires,” Activision wrote on Twitter.
It’s a fair move, because the skin doesn’t look all that bad. It’s got a hooded, tactical and cool, almost Squid Games-esque look to it, wearing a mask, and the texture of it is kind of fingerprint swirly. It’s all brought together by a metallic, teal and fuchsia camouflage pattern swirling on a charcoal gray background. It might appeal to a younger generation, but it’s still quite appealing.
The fires also had a ripple effect in the gaming world, with several Los Angeles studios closed and the filming of Fallout’s second season put on hold. Just ahead of Activision, Riot Games also helped out by donating one of its backup generators to the fire department, as well as a spare for its employees.
