Samsung Galaxy G Fold: Is This the Future of Tri-Folding Phones?

TECH NEWS – After Huawei’s Mate XT, the South Korean company is also preparing a tri-fold smartphone with a much larger display than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Samsung was completely surprised when last fall, China’s Huawei unveiled the first consumer tri-fold phone, the Mate XT.Except that Huawei is under trade sanctions, but no such problem for Samsung, which has tried to respond.According to a rumor, the South Koreans are trying to make up for lost time with the Galaxy G Fold, which is still nearly six months away at the earliest.

The Huawei Mate XT S will be foldable into an S-shape, but the Galaxy G Fold is rumored to have a display that folds inwards.Samsung probably decided to do this to improve the life of the display and to prevent sharp objects from scratching it. A leaker, yeux1122, wrote that the display of Samsung’s device will be 9.96″ (~25.3 cm) when fully unfolded, so users can work on a pretty large screen.

According to ITHome, the display will be 30% larger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (7.6″, 19.3 cm) and the height will be 6.54″ (16.61 cm), making it easy to carry when folded. However, there is no information on pricing, and there are also questions about what chipset will power Samsung’s phone. It’s likely that the South Korean company won’t compromise, so they won’t go for the Exynos 2500, for example, and will instead opt for an increased clock speed Snapdragon 8 Elite. This has no impact on the EU at the moment, but as Trump wants to tax products from the EU, the EU is likely to do the same for products from the US.Over time, it is likely that the price increase will be felt here as well, but it is a question of when and to what extent.
