Dead by Daylight Will Do a Crossover with One of the Biggest Ubisoft IPs! [VIDEO]

Perhaps the characters from the French publisher’s franchise are skilled at survival — maybe that’s the logic behind this Dead by Daylight crossover.

Dead by Daylight is gearing up for a new collaboration, though it’s probably not the one anyone expected. The game will team up with Ubisoft’s recently revealed title, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a project the publisher has praised even as its financial results continue to spiral. The crossover has been officially confirmed on Assassin’s Creed’s social media, along with a not-so-distant release window.

In the teaser video, Naoe and Yasuke, the protagonists of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, sit around a campfire, while a ghostly armored figure cloaked in red flames watches them from the shadows. Ubisoft previously stated that Shadows would include special collaborations as part of its post-launch update roadmap, and this appears to be the first one. Although exact details remain under wraps, it’s very likely that Naoe and Yasuke will appear as survivors in Dead by Daylight.

The concept may seem unusual, but Ubisoft is at a point where it’s trying anything that might work. If this trend continues, their joint venture with Chinese tech giant Tencent could turn into a full acquisition. This isn’t the first time Assassin’s Creed has explored weird or unexpected crossovers.

In Assassin’s Creed Origins, players could accidentally release the main villain from Final Fantasy XV from an ancient tomb and ride a camel-chocobo hybrid wielding FF-style weapons. Dead by Daylight has also featured plenty of surprising collaborations, including Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, Geralt from The Witcher, and even Nicolas Cage. So at this point, Naoe and Yasuke don’t seem so out of place.
