The GTA 5 trio wants to be in GTA 6, but not in the base game. The actors have asked fans to “campaign” Rockstar to make it happen. The actors who play the three protagonists want Rockstar to make a GTA 6 expansion and for Michael, Franklin, and Trevor to be the protagonists.
Michael, Franklin, and Trevor are more than just video game characters — they’re the stars of the second best-selling video game ever made. In GTA 5, we’ve seen them rob banks, hold up stores, and wreak havoc with a lot of personality. While Rockstar never gave them a proper story expansion, the cast hasn’t given up hope. With GTA 6 just months away, they’ve sent an important message to fans.
At Brussels Comic Con, Ned Luke, Shawn Fonteno, and Steven Ogg told fans they’d love to return in a GTA 6 DLC that reunites the trio in Los Santos. The idea — jokingly dubbed ‘The Last Heist’ by Ogg — came up as the actors answered fan questions. Ogg said, “You guys would have to campaign for Rockstar to make this happen.” Luke agreed, saying, “That would be awesome,” though they admit it’s unlikely Rockstar will ever do it, despite some hints that GTA 5 and GTA 6 might connect through Michael’s boat mission. Even as a joke, the GTA 5 trio would absolutely return if Rockstar made the call.
DLC in Rockstar Games
Rockstar Games hasn’t released a story expansion since before 2013. They originally planned eight story DLCs for GTA 5, but the runaway success of GTA Online changed the company’s focus. While GTA Online has seen loads of content updates, there hasn’t been a single-player expansion since Red Dead Redemption’s ‘Undead Nightmare’. GTA 4, a few years earlier, got two legendary DLCs: ‘The Lost and Damned’ and ‘The Ballad of Gay Tony’.
